Wincanton Racecourse & Market Rasen

Four runners equally split between Wincanton and Market Rasen today.

Wincanton Racecourse

2.10 - Ballyellis went well over 2m 5f at Ludlow in his first handicap in February and returns to a similar trip after a run over 2m at Fakenham three weeks ago. Is down 6lbs from an initial mark of 120 today plus with Joe Anderson taking off a further 10lbs, this looks to be a good opportunity. Improving with experience, a good run with each way prospects expected.

3.45 - Pink Gin won over course and distance two outings ago from a mark of 104 then ran creditably at Exeter to take 4th of 11 when up 4lbs. Gets a pound back today and on the same good ground as his win here, must have another very good chance. Zac Baker rides and takes off a further 5lbs.

Market Rasen Racecourse

3.35 - Larch Hill makes his chase debut and comes into this in good form following a creditable win over timber at Warwick in January over 2m. Raised 4lbs to 108, he still went well for a long way at Carlisle last time before fading to a mid-division finish. A mark of 107 here seems to be a fair start to chasing and he’s expected to progress for the larger obstacles. Sam Twiston-Davies rides and a good run expected.

4.05 - Earlofthecotswolds has been progressive this season, starting with a bumper win in September and two more wins over hurdles, including a course and distance win two outings ago. Ran a creditable second last time at Ludlow and looks poised to go close at least again here. More to come, Sam in the saddle.
