Wetherby Racecourse & Ascot Today

We send five to Wetherby Racecourse and two to Ascot Racecourse today.

Wetherby

1.20 - Kapgarry made a pleasing seasonal and chase debut with a third place at Warwick in September from a mark of 120. Down to 117 today and back to 2m 3+f, has improvement to come and can go close here. Sam Twiston-Davies rides.

1.55 - Zambella has joined us from France where she Is two from two, over hurdles, both over 2m 2f and looks a nice prospect. Over 2m on soft ground will suit and she looks to have a solid each way chance.Sam Twiston-Davies aboard.

2.30 - Nye Bevan is another who made a pleasing hurdles debut with a third place at Bangor on Dee Racecourse  a month ago. This is a step up but the experience has brought him on and though plenty needed, he can go well here. Jordan Nailor rides and takes off 7lbs.

3.05 - Ballyandy went better than 6th place may suggest on his seasonal bow at Chepstow Racecourse over 2m 3+f. Went well over 2m 5f to take third at the Cheltenham Festival, so the step up to 3m today expected to suit. A big run expected, Sam Twiston-Davies aboard.

3.40 - Ballyoptic returned to winning form at Chepstow Racecourse three weeks ago in nice style over a shade short of today’s 3m. Is up 5lbs to 157 for that but has come on for the run and can show further improvement. Another good run expected, Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.

Ascot

1.35 - Earlofthecotswolds started his season with a good second over hurdles at Market Rasen Racecourse and returned to the same track for his chasing debut, going well when coming down at the second last. Steps up a couple of furlongs to 2m 3f and stays on the same mark of 140 and looks to have a solid each way chance. Tom Bellamy in the saddle.

3.20 - Go Conquer went well to take third spot in this last year from a mark of 147, then went on to win a good race at Doncaster from 151, both over 3m. Went up to 157 and pulled up in the Grand National then again at Sandown Racecourse in April. Gets 2lbs back today and returns in good form with a good each way chance. Tom Bellamy rides.
