Southwell & Cheltenham Racecourse
Three go to Cheltenham Racecourse and two to Southwell Racecourse For Nigel Twiston-Davies today.
12.32 - Rizzardo - Made a pleasing return back in August at Uttoxeter with a 5th place over a trip maybe a shade too far over 3m. Drops back to 2m 4+f here but a drop to a mark of 110 puts him back within 3lbs of his last winning mark. Will strip fitter now and can get amongst them. Jordan Nailor rides, takes off a further 5lbs and the pair have a good each way chance.
3.25 - Imperial Acolyte - Returns to hurdles after three unsuccessful outings over fences where he’s failed to finish. Won a novice hurdle over 2m two years ago, showing promise at the time, but didn’t build on that. A mark of 101 though looks attractive and back over the smaller obstacles, may see a revival of fortunes with the 2m 4+f likely to suit. Jordan Nailor rides and again takes off 5lbs.
2.25 - Mossy Fen - Meets just three rivals here and drops back to 2m 4+f after a chase debut here at the October meeting that saw him fade late on over 3m. Has come on for that race and looks sure to be there at the business end in this. Should go very well, Sam Twiston-Davies rides.
3.35 - Ballymillsy - Has made a promising start to his career with a 4th place in a bumper following up with a third at Lingfield on his hurdles debut three weeks ago. That was over 2m 4+f and a shade further today will suit. Steps up in class but despite relative inexperience has plenty to come and should go very well. Sam Twiston-Davies aboard.
4.05 - One True King - Went close over course and distance at the October meeting from a mark of 125. Up 2lbs for that, he gives weight to all his rivals here, but he’s shown at home that there is improvement to come on course and another that should go very well. Sam Twiston-Davies rides and a good run expected.
