Market Rasen & Wincanton Racecourse

Market Rasen Racecourse

12:25 Guy has had a bumper run back in April when runner up at Perth. Summered well, then came back and went well to be 6th stepped up to 2m 5f in a good race for his hurdles debut at Cheltenham in October. Drops in grade and trip by a couple of furlongs, meets just four rivals. This is still competitive, but looks to have a very good chance with more to come. Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.

2:05 Rocco fell on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter early October but came back with a good win at Stratford at the end of the month. Goes over a couple of furlongs further at 2m 5+f here, but looks like plenty more to come. Is up 6lbs to 134 and goes from top weight in this limited handicap on similar soft ground. Hopeful of a follow up here, Sam rides.

Wincanton Racecourse

2:15 Pink Gin was a course and distance winner back in January, but didn’t go so well up 4lbs after at Exeter or back here in April. Gets a couple of pounds back here on 107 and has gone well fresh before. Goes well on most ground, so today’s soft shouldn’t be a worry and hopeful of a return to that form that brought the win here three outings ago. Mark Grant rides.

2:50 Whiskey Moon makes his second stable debut for us having returned following a spell pointing over the last couple of years. Managed a win in that sphere but has only had the one hurdles outing in his career when finishing down the field over 2m at Huntingdon two years ago. Still only a 7yo, is more to come from him and the step up to 2m 5+f should suit, but probably best watched on his return to hurdles here. Mark in the saddle.

3:20 Locker Room Talk had a good hurdles record with two wins from seven and made a pleasing chasing bow when 3rd at Fakenham 3 weeks ago. Rated 132 in that novice event, he comes in to this handicap 5lbs better off. Looks sure to improve on that and has a good each way chance. Jack Savage rides and claims 7lbs.
