Ludlow & Sedgefield Racecourse

Six runners at Ludlow Racecourse and two at Sedgefield Racecourse today.

Ludlow Racecourse

1.15 - Fontana Ellissi - Three runs to date have all shown promise with a couple of third places in a bumper and a novice hurdle, plus a runners up berth upped to 2m 2f in an all-weather bumper. Upped in trip again to 2m 5+f over hurdles can bring out more in him and can again go close. Sam rides.

1.45 - Wicked Willy - Has found some form of late as he’s come down the handicap with a couple of places, both at Leicester over 2m 4+f. Down a further 4lbs to 115 today will again be a help over a furlong further. Jack Savage takes off a further 5lbs. Again each way prospects.

2.15 - The Newest One - Has shown some promise with a couple of mid-division finishes earlier this season and some placed runs previously. Has had some time off since November and returns in good order and a couple of pounds better off on 115. This 2m 4f should suit and expecting to see some more from him here. Sam aboard.

2.45 - Robinshill - Ran up a hat trick to start his season in fine style in a couple of handicap hurdles then a chase, two over today’s course and distance. Found the ground a bit heavy over the same last time but expected to go much better on today’s good to soft and can go close. Sam rides.

3.15 - Checkitout - Came good on the fifth time of asking over fences last time at Southwell with a nice win from a mark of 122. Up 8lb today, he goes over a similar 3m but still looks handily weighted receiving from 3 to 22lb from his three rivals. Hoping to take advantage here, a good run expected, Sam in the saddle.

3.45 - Just No Risk - Has gone well in a couple of Jumpers bumpers last two outings and returns to novice hurdle company. Needs to find a bit more but his experience to date taking him in the right direction and can show that progress and get involved here. Each way prospects. Sam rides.

2.22 - Ginger Du Val - Seems to have taken a little time to settle after coming to us from France where he showed ability with a couple of bumper wins. Has had three outings here, the second of which he looked to be going particularly well, when the race was stopped and voided. Didn’t get the cleanest of runs last time at Catterick but with just three rivals today shouldn’t have that problem. Daryl Jacob rides, improvement expected.

4.25 - Good Boy Bobby - Returned to hurdles last time and sticks to that and a similar trip of 2m 4f here. Gets back 3lbs to 139 giving him a fair looking mark and should go well on this faster good ground. Looks sure to be in the mix but very hopeful of going close. Daryl aboard.
