Grand National Ladies Day
Three Nigel Twiston-Davies runners at Aintree Racecourse Grand National ladies day.
4.05 - two in the Topham over the Grand National fences, 2m 5f.
- Flying Angel went well to take 5th in the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival and has come out of the race well. Tenth in this last year has given him experience of the fences, but has shown good form over this trip this season notably when second at Ascot in November. On a reasonable mark of 142 and will appreciate the soft ground, a good run expected and can give Tom Bellamy a good ride.
- Ballyhill won here over the mildmay fences in December from a mark of 134 and has run up a hat trick of third places since raised 12lbs for that. Gets a couple of pounds back today, but those recent runs show that he’s up to it and could run a big race from 142. Will also appreciate the ground, jumps well and looks to have solid each way credentials. Sam Twiston-Davies rides.
4.40 - Kingsplace has had two second places in his last two runs, both at Chepstow over 2m 3+f and 2m 7+f respectively and comes into this grade one in very good heart. Will appreciate the extra furlong today and with ground to suit can go very well. More to come and a good run expected, could be excellent value, Sam in the saddle.
