Five Runners Market Rasen
We send five runners to Market Rasen today, where the going is expected to be good. Jordan Nailor rides all and uses his 3lb claim.
1.30 - Kingofthecotswolds Won a maiden when rated 123 and a subsequent rise to 132 didn’t help progress. He’s steadily fallen in his eight races since, including a couple of chases, but now sees him down to 109. He’s run better than that on a few occasions and can be expected to go well today from this mark plus Jordan’s claim.
2.05 - Goa Lil Returns to hurdles after a couple of chases finishing 3rd of 5 and 6th of 8 at Kempton & Uttoxeter respectively. Down 5lbs from 127 and a return to the smaller obstacles can help here and should go better than this mornings odds suggest. Still only a 5yo, more to come.
2.40 - Topofthecotswolds Is back on a mark within a couple of pounds of his last win at Doncaster in March, but has gone well in three of his four outings since, the exception being a fall at Aintree following the win. Has some form here with a second place last August and will appreciate the 2m 6f on good ground. Looks to have a good each way chance, a good run expected.
3.10 - Ballyellis Has been running well without troubling the judge of late over trips from 2m 2f to 3m 1f, so versatile with trip, but on a good mark 3lbs below his last winning one over 2m at Fakenham in March, must have at least an each way chance and capable of a good run here on these terms.
4.22 - Larch Hill Has had a good time in his last five runs since the end of March with a win and three second places and but for a mistake mid-race last time at Worcester, may well have improved on that, but stayed on well after recovering to take 4th place. A repeat here (without the mistake) on a pound better terms, will see him go close. Another good run expected, each way claims.
