Cheltenham Racecourse & Hereford Racecourse

No less than 9 runners today, 5 at Cheltenham Racecourse and 4 at Hereford Racecourse, so a line or two on each.

Cheltenham Racecourse

12.45 - We run two in this 2m 4+f novices chase.

  • Good Boy Bobby has won 7 of his 10 races and placed in the other three. A good start to his chasing career too with a second on his Carlisle debut then winning at Wetherby four weeks ago. His biggest task to date but is up to it. Another good run expected, Sam rides.
  • Topofthecotswolds ran up a hat trick at Stratford earlier in the season to earn a rating of 140. Pulled up here last time on heavy ground but should be better suited today and can put that behind him. Jamie Bargary aboard.

1.55 - Ridersonthestorm is now a non-runner.

2.30 - We run two in this 3m novices hurdle.

  • Redford Road has won a bumper and a hurdle from his four starts, coming second in the other two. Ran a very good race to be runner up to one of today’s rivals at Ascot last time. Step up in trip today expected to suit and could tip things in his favour. Jamie rides.
  • Mossy Fen has also had a great start to his career with two wins over 2m 7f and 2m 4f at Worcester and Aintree respectively. Will be suited by today’s trip and conditions and can go very well. Sam rides.

3.05 - Ballyandy has some very good form in the book including a win over 2m 4f back in January and a couple of 3rd places including the Coral Cup at The Festival. Stepped up to 3m at Wetherby last time, but drops back to 2m 1f here and should be better suited. Could be good each way value back at this track, Sam aboard.

Hereford Racecourse

2.20 - Ballyellis has won 4 from 5 of his last races in claiming or selling company. Back in a handicap today on his highest ever rating, but in very good form and can continue the good work. Jordan Nailor rides and claims 7lbs.

2.55 - Another Frontier was pulled up in four of his five races last season but had a long rest and returned in good order to be 3rd of 11 from a good mark of 110 in a handicap hurdle. Continues in that sphere 2lbs lower here and could be each way value. Dave Crosse aboard.

3.30 - We run two in this bumper.

  • Vulcan Bomber has had one outing, finishing mid-division of 14 over 1m 5f at Exeter, showing some promise. Can improve markedly on that up to 2m now and can be a threat to all. Dave In the saddle.
  • The Mick Preston makes his debut having shown plenty at home. Well-related, can also be right amongst them here. Jordan rides and his 7lbs could prove valuable.
