Ascot Racecourse

Four go to Ascot today.

2.10 - Volcano has been placed in four out of five outings this season, the last three runs being over just short of 3m. Drops back to 2m 3+f here and down a couple of pounds to 119. Deserves to get his head in front and though this is another competitive event, has a good chance today. Sam Twiston-Davies rides.

3.20 - Townshend went well to take second at Wincanton in mid February, his first outing after a wind operation, then finished in midfield of 10 two weeks ago up a pound to 128 at Kempton. Goes from the same mark and trip of 2m 5f today and if returning to the form of two outings ago has a very good chance. A good run expected, Sam aboard.

4.30 - Bigbadjohn is a course and distance winner and has been in decent form having won over 3m 2+f at Wincanton two outings ago from a mark of 135. Pulled up last time when up 2lbs, he can put that run behind him here at a track he enjoys. Should go close, Sam in the saddle.

5.05 - Unblinking has had a good season with a couple of wins and places to his credit, going from 105 to 118 in the process. Had a run out on the all-weather flat at Kempton four weeks ago, going well to take 3rd spot and resumes over timber on a better mark of 115. Jordan Nailor rides, takes off 6lbs and the pair look to have a very good chance against a reduced field of five rivals.
