Ascot Haydock Park & Wincanton Racecourse

Seven runners across three meetings today. Ascot Racecourse, Haydock Park & Wincanton Racecourse

Ascot Racecourse

1.15 - One True King - Excellent record this season of two wins two seconds and a third until last time when finishing down the field stepped up in trip in a good grade handicap. Back in grade and a couple of furlongs here, can continue the prior progress and should go very well. Sam aboard, a good run expected.

2.25 - Hill Sixteen - Won on his first two runs for us, one over fences and one over hurdles from 126 and 123 respectively, but a hike to 138 on his last chase appearance at Haydock proved restrictive, though on heavy ground. Gets a pound back here and with the better soft ground, an improved run expected. Can go close, more to come, Sam rides.

3.00 - Stolen Silver - Returns to hurdles here though had gone well since chasing this term with three placings from the the three runs. Not seen since November so a return to smaller obstacles possibly progressive for him from a mark of 140. Trip and ground suits and looks a good each way prospect here. Sam in the saddle.

3.35 - Riders Onthe Storm - Won this in a four runner race last year but comes in to this as the outsider of five. Possibly not progressed as expected but we still feel there’s more to come and having done it before, can hopefully do it again. Can go well, Sam rides.

Haydock Park

2.05 - Ballyoptic - Hasn’t been seen over hurdles since ‘17 but had a very good record at that time. Has had an equally good record over fences since with 5 wins, but the terms of this race look to provide a good each way opportunity and in good form, looks to have as good a chance as any. Jordan Nailor rides, who is also in very good form.

3.50 - Redford Road - Another returning to hurdles after a spell chasing, which may help to sharpen him up. Trip arguably ideal on this soft ground and looks a good each way prospect with Jordan able to claim his 3lb allowance.

Wincanton Racecourse

3.58 - Our Power - Has gone well in three outings from 2m 3f to 2m 5f without threatening but probably a shade high in the handicap. Still just a pound better on 136 than last time when 4th of 8 at Haydock before Christmas, has had a good break and expected to go well fresh and with Jack Savage claiming 5lbs, has good each way claims.
