Ascot, Haydock Park & Newcastle

Nigel Twiston-Davies & Team Twiston have nine runners across three meetings today, Ascot Racecourse, Haydock Park & Newcastle Racecourse

Ascot Racecourse

12.40 - Poppa Poutine - Won in good style when going handicapping for the first time at the beginning of the month at Southwell on just his fourth racecourse appearance. From a mark of 116 on good to soft that day and over 3m 1/2f, he’s up 6lbs, over a furlong shorter on soft ground, but is still progressing and can go very close here. Tom Bellamy rides.

1.50 - Kapgarry - Makes his seasonal reappearance having signed off with a nice win at Stratford over 2m 6f at Stratford in March. Up 4lbs but went well fresh last term and this 2m 3f on soft should suit. In good shape for the return and could be good each way value. Jamie Bargary in the saddle.

3.00 - Good Luck Hollie In SPOTY Silver Cup Handicap Chase

Flying Angel - Won here back in November ‘19 from today’s mark of 140, but possibly found the subsequent rise a shade restrictive. Went well to take 4th last time over the National fences at Aintree with a good display of jumping, with that outing putting him right. Has a good chance from this mark and can go well with each way value. Tom aboard.

Fauberg Rosetgri - Joined us from France in November and highly tried on his debut at Haydock, pulling up four out. Over a similar trip today and though maybe best watched, has progressed and an improved run expected. Daryl Jacob rides.

Haydock Park

1.30 - Equus Millar - Has had just three chases but won on the first time of asking at Worcester back in July ‘19. Maybe a shade high in the handicap subsequently but is making good progress and from a lower mark of 117 can get back into contention after a couple of midfield efforts. Value from this mark, Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.

2.05 - Our Power - Has shown improvement this term in his two outings, benefitting from experience and looks ready to make further progress here. Third here last time is 6lbs better off with the winner who he meets again today and capable of reversing that. A good run expected, Sam aboard.

2.40 - Hill Sixteen - Is two from two from his outings this term since joining us and continues to progress and impress at home. Steps up In grade in this prestigious race but is capable of putting in a big performance. Ground shouldn’t be a problem with a win on heavy on stable debut, so plenty going for him. Sam rides, a big run expected.

Newcastle Racecourse

1.40 - Ballyhill - Has had three outings this season and though going well, has yet to find his best form over hurdles, so returns to chasing. Reasonably handicapped at 7lbs below last chase win, but hopeful this return to fences can also bring about a return to form. Jordan Nailor aboard and the 5lb claim could be useful.

3.25 - Blended Stealth - A half brother to Cogry, who needs no introduction, so hopeful of big things to come. This introduction will show a lot as always, but has shown ability at home and hopeful of a very promising debut. Jordan aboard, a big run expected.
