Aintree Racecourse Wincanton Racecourse
Seven runners today, five at Aintree two at Wincanton, a brief note on each.
12.55 - We run three in this novices hurdle, half the field.
- Jelski was a very pleasing second on his seasonal and hurdles debut at Carlisle just over 3 weeks ago. Steps up to 2m 4f here which will suit. Sure to improve and can go close. Tom Bellamy rides.
- Maria Francesca has had two hurdles over 2m 3f and 2m respectively, finishing down the field in both. Is gaining experience but needs to find some more stepping back up in trip. Jamie Bargary aboard.
- Mossy Fen made the ideal racecourse and hurdles debut when winning at Worcester four weeks ago. Over 2m 7f that day, the step back won’t inconvenience him and he looks set to run another good race. Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.
2.05 - Riders On The Storm makes his debut for us having joined from Tom Taaffe’s yard in Ireland, where he showed some good form including a novice chase win at Punchestown over 2m. Up to 2m 4f today, he takes on some experienced rivals, but he’s settled on nicely and can get amongst them. A good run expected, Sam rides.
3.50 - Vulcan Bomber is now a non-runner.
3.35 - Wicked Willy won over hurdles at Kempton in March from a mark of 124, then finished down the field in a chase then another hurdles outing when up to 132. Returns to fences 2lbs better off today stepped up to 3m 1f, but with Jordan Nailor taking off 7lbs. Needs to find a bit more, but is capable of doing so and could be good each way value at a decent price.
4.10 - Noble Savage has had just the one bumper run at Huntingdon in April when he finished tailed off. Has summered well and returns in good order. Our bumper runners have been going well and he can show some good improvement here. A good run expected, Mark Grant rides.
