Four at Ludlow’s evening meeting today with Baby Ted getting us underway in the 5.30.
30 - Baby Ted with two 3rd place bumpers under his belt and mid-division hurdles debut at Bangor six weeks ago, he’s gaining valuable experience and back to 2m here on good ground may see some improvement. Looks to be a good each way proposition, Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.
.00 - Astracad is now a 12yo and though not in the same form of a few years ago when rated up to 137, did manage a hat-trick of 3rd places last season from marks ranging from 130 to 126. He’s down to 114 here, is in good shape is suited by ground and trip, so has plenty in his favour. Should go well, Sam rides.
.30 - Atlantic Grey has had four hurdles outings and started off with a third at Wetherby followed by a second at Fakenham. Hasn’t fared so well in two handicaps since, both off of 112, at Cheltenham and Wetherby. He drops to 110 here but should find this easier on good ground and can go well. A good run expected, Sam in the saddle.
.00 - Equus Millar is another gaining experience but started straight over hurdles, unfortunately falling at the last at Bangor when challenging. A couple of good 4th places in novice events, were followed by his handicap debut off of 110 at Warwick, but he finished well down the field. Two pounds better off here, he seems to appreciate good going and looks to have good each way prospects. Zac Baker rides in this amateurs event.
