Four more to Aintree today.
4.05 - We run two in this race.
Flying Angel won here over 2m 4f this time last year in good style and was raised to a mark of 157. Pulled up next time at Ayr, he started off this season on the same mark and has run in class 1’s including upped in trip, managing a couple of places. Good signs of returning to form and back over 2m 5f and down to 148 today can see him in with a good each way chance. Tom Bellamy rides.
Bigbadjohn joined us from the Rebecca Curtis yard and made a successful debut over 3m at Kempton two months ago. Up 5lbs to 138, he can come on for that race. He’s done most of his chasing over 3m or more on faster ground, but he’s a versatile sort and a drop back to 2m 5f on soft shouldn’t inconvenience him and he too should go very well. Jamie Bargary aboard.
4.40 - Count Meribel started his season in good style, running up a hat trick and going from a rating of 124 to 143 in the process. That seemed to take its toll two outings ago at Warwick when last of six and last time at Ascot when last of five from 140, so a further pound off here is welcome. He steps up to 3m+ having done most of his racing over shorter except for when second at Cheltenham in December over 3m. Mark Grant rides and a good run expected.
5.15 - Al Dancer won nicely last time at Bangor, his first outing for us having joined from Christian Williams, where he had shown promise with second and third places both at Ffos Las. Looks sure to come on again and could be good each way value here. Jamie rides.
