Born on 23rd May 1986, now aged 23, David is now in his sixth season with us.
David has now ridden a total of 84 winners to the end of the 2008/09 season, the majority for us, and has also enjoyed many point-to-point rides and winners for local trainers. He was selected for the FEGENTRI series in 2006, where he rode in Germany. He rode 2 winners out of three rides but also then unfortunately took a fall and suffered a broken vertebrae. He recovered well to work his way up through the ranks as a conditional, losing his claim in November 2008, and has now joined the full professional level.
He nominates Hello Bud as one to follow with a real chance of adding the Grand National to the Scottish version achieved this year. Another to watch is Bermuda Pointe, curiously nominated by others as well!
David particular enjoys riding at Aintree, stating that there is riding over fences and riding over the Aintree national fences - "in a different league"!
He is very keen on achieving the best possible fitness and to this end also enjoys motocross and tennis in his spare time. He also enjoys watching football, not following a particular team, but likes the style shown by Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
David is soon to move in with fellow jockey Sean Quinlan and is looking forward to the new seaon proper from his new base.
